Since inflation is up, and the odds of Fed rate cuts have been pushed down and out, stocks must be down. Right?

Well, no. Up. Meaningfully so in fact, since yesterday’s hot CPI print.

Why? Well your guess is as good as mine but I would think that the general tide of sweeping deregulation in the US has something to do with it. Lower regulation = lower costs = higher EPS, simple. Any externalities that may occur as a result of regulations being removed are not the problem of the companies producing those earnings. So I think investors are lapping it up.
