The market didn’t really moon today because jobs. The market is setting up to moon and has been held down by (i) retail and hedge fund fear of semiconductor and (ii) put-buying with the Middle East in mind. Along comes a hot jobs report - into a Fed environment where they have committed to cutting anyway - and, !boom! there goes risk asset pricing. Today oil was up (Middle East narrative, technical pattern trading reality), the Vix was down, bonds were down, and stocks were up.
